Full-color print flexibility
for any quantity.

DTF printing gives you unlimited color options, sharp detail, and fast turnaround without the high minimums of screen printing.

print first,
then press.

DTF (Direct-to-Film) prints your full-color design onto a special film using CMYK and white ink, then coats it with adhesive powder. The film is positioned on the garment and pressed at 300–330°F for 10–15 seconds. The result is a soft, flexible transfer that reproduces photographic detail, gradients, and unlimited colors in a single press.

Because there are no screens to burn and no color limits, DTF is the most flexible way to decorate short runs, mixed garment types, and full-color artwork at any quantity.

Heat press applying a DTF transfer to a custom t-shirt

works on just
about everything.

DTF transfers bond to almost any fabric — cotton, polyester, tri-blends, nylon, and more. That flexibility makes it the go-to method when you're working with mixed garment types across a single order.

Common items include t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, bags, jerseys, performance wear, and non-apparel like canvas totes and aprons. If it can handle a heat press, we can print on it.

DTF doesn't require pre-treatment or special fabric prep. The same transfer works on a white cotton tee and a black polyester hoodie — no artwork changes needed.

01

No minimums

Need one hoodie with a full-color logo? Done. Unlike screen printing, there's no minimum order for DTF. Order exactly what you need — whether that's 1 piece or 500.

02

Unlimited color

Photographs, gradients, complex logos — same price as a single-color design. CMYK + white ink means there's no per-color upcharge and no detail loss.

03

Great for short runs

Company event next week? New hire who needs one shirt? Short-run orders are where DTF shines. No setup waste, no leftover screens — just the exact pieces you need.

We also cut a little vinyl.

Vinyl (HTV) is cut from colored sheets and heat-pressed onto the garment. It's rare for us these days — DTF covers most of what vinyl used to be asked for. The one place vinyl still earns its keep is simple one- or two-color work like individual names and numbers on jerseys. If that's your project, we'll mention it when we quote. For everything else, DTF is faster, cleaner, and more flexible.

frequently asked questions

DTF (Direct-to-Film) prints your full-color artwork onto a special film using CMYK and white ink, then heat-presses it onto the garment. Unlimited colors, sharp detail, soft hand feel, and no minimums — it's the most flexible decoration method we offer.

DTF transfers are very durable when properly applied. They withstand 50+ washes without cracking or peeling when you follow care instructions — wash inside out on cold, tumble dry low. The print maintains a soft hand feel throughout its lifespan.

No. DTF uses CMYK plus white ink, so there are no color limits and no extra cost per color. You can print full-color photographs, complex gradients, and detailed artwork at the same price as a single-color design. That makes DTF ideal for intricate logos and colorful graphics.

DTF transfers bond to cotton, polyester, tri-blends, nylon, and most fabrics that can handle a heat press at 300-330 degrees. The same transfer works on both light and dark garments without any artwork changes or special fabric preparation.

No minimum order required. You can order a single custom hoodie or hundreds of event shirts. That's one of the biggest advantages over screen printing, which has a firm 12-piece minimum per design. DTF is priced per piece with no setup waste.

We occasionally still use vinyl for simple one or two-color jobs like names and numbers on jerseys. For everything else — full-color artwork, logos, event apparel, short runs — DTF is faster, cleaner, and more flexible. We'll recommend the right method when we quote your project.
